Toril Torjesen Hinchman is the Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Baldwin.
Coach Hinchman grew up in Oslo, Norway and then traveled back and forth from Europe to the United States during her high school years.
She also played soccer internationally in Germany for three years, while attending the University of Maryland European Division. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland (B.S. Business) and Rosemont College (M.A Education) - where she also received honors for Outstanding Academic Achievement and earned her Pennsylvania Teacher's certification.
Coach Hinchman has been awarded her United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "C" License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Regional & State Goalkeeping diploma, and the HSC Coach of the Year award. She is also a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association, The United States Soccer Federation, and the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Along with her coaching duties at Baldwin, Coach Hinchman is the Head Coach for the U-15 Girls Olympic Development Program (ODP) Team. Under her leadership, they remained undefeated in 2010/11, and seven EPYSA ODP players earned a spot on the Regional ODP team.
She also coaches the U-15 girls Haverford Elite Knights, earning the title of “finalists” in the PAGS league and the Pennsylvania Indoor Cup.
In addition to her commitment to soccer, Coach Hinchman is a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is an instructor of martial arts and self defense as part of Baldwin's physical education curriculum. She has competed in numerous Martial Arts Tournaments, earning ten 1stplace victories, six 2nd places, and eight 3rdplaces.
Coach Hinchman lives in Bryn Mawr, with her husband, three daughters, and two dogs.
