We toured the Mutter Museum, participated in online activities, experimented in a dry lab, and attended a lecture.
Great Women of Stage and Screen
Baldwin’s dramatists dressed up in vintage gowns to play the part of Britain’s most acclaimed film stars. They studied the works of great actresses, worked with a visiting artist on acting techniques, and stopped over at Taste of Britain to enjoy a full tea service – English style!
The Meaning and Experience of the Winter, Summer and Special Olympics
Baldwin’s Middle School girls learned about the history of the Winter and Summer Olympic Games, before taking a trip to the Philadelphia Curling Club. They received a lesson in Curling – a Winter Olympics sport which requires players to slide stones across a sheet of ice towards a goal. The girls also participated in a variety of events with Lower Merion High School special education students on Baldwin’s campus.

French Food and Culture
Students got a taste for French food and culture with a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to view works by some of France’s most celebrated artists, followed by a French food cook-off. Baldwin girls put on their chef hats and cooked a French meal while watching Julie and Julia for culinary inspiration.
Archeology and the Ancient WorldStudents grabbed shovels, brushes and sifters and dug for artifacts. The stage was set with a trip to the Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology to discover the techniques behind unearthing, recording and accounting for ancient objects, followed by an archeological dig in the classroom. “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
