Lewars Academic Preseason Lewars Academic Preseason is a one-week program that helps new Middle School and Upper School students become acclimated to Baldwin, including its academic expectations and student life, as well as to review strategies for reading, writing and research. Below you will find a more detailed description of our Middle School and Upper School programs. Middle School Entering its fifth year, the Middle School Academic Preseason Program is instructed by Baldwin faculty and focuses on math review, study skills, and orientation to student life in the Middle School. Students meet in the morning for three hours just prior to the start of school so that they are able to begin the new school year with the skills for a successful journey through Middle School and beyond. Last year, our students reported enjoying math games, a scavenger hunt, and having the opportunity to explore their new building.

Upper School Entering its third year, the Upper School Academic Preseason Program is instructed by Baldwin faculty and focuses on study skills, expectations for Upper School, and the research and writing process. The Upper School academic preseason is scheduled to coincide with athletic preseason. Students are encouraged to attend this important program which aims to connect them to faculty, as well as orient them to their new school.
