Growing Up Global Film Series screens British family film
In Millions, as England prepares to switch currency from Pounds to Euros, a devout seven-year-old boy obsessed with the lives of the saints gets the surprise of a lifetime when a bag full of the soon-to-be-outdated money lands on his suburban “hermitage” playhouse. What he and his older brother do with their windfall drives this fable’s charming exploration of morality, greed, and redemption. Director Danny Boyle’s 2004 film is rated PG and runs 98 minutes; recommended for ages eight and up.

The Growing Up Global Film Series is a multicultural family film series presented in conjunction with Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s Community Partner the Baldwin School and the book by local author and parent Homa Sabet Tavangar, Growing Up Global: Raising Children to Be At Home in the World. The series began in November with the international soccer comedy La Gran Final (The Great Match) and continued in February with the animated French film Azur and Asmar.

Tickets to Millions are $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Bryn Mawr Film Institute Members may buy tickets in advance at the Box Office; non-members may only buy tickets the day of the show.  Call 610 527-4008 for more information.
