The Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS) is a member services organization whose mission is t Safeguard and promote the interests of independent schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; Provide pertinent services which meet the needs or enhance the effectiveness of member schools; Collaborate with other local, state, regional, and national organizations and associations; and Uphold the educational standards of independent education in the Commonwealth in conjunction with Pennsylvania Association of Private Academic Schools (PAPAS), Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSACS), and National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
The Pennsylvania Association of Academic Schools (PAPAS) is an accrediting body. Its sole mission is to accredit Pennsylvania private independent schools using a comprehensive set of standards. Accreditation ensures the public that member schools meet and maintain articulated standards of educational excellence. The fundamental principle underlying the operation of PAPAS is that a school should be evaluated by the association’s standards in light of the school’s own philosophy.
