They may also wear cozy,
“appropriate” pajamas for the day if they wish. Otherwise they should wear
their uniforms. For safety
reasons, footwear should be uniform sneakers or shoes.
At the BEAR Day Assembly Baldwin
mother Judy Boreham and her daughter, Olivia Boreham Wing '16 will give
a presentation on the important work that Philadelphia’s Ronald MacDonald House
does for children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life threatening
illnesses. Families who travel to
Philadelphia in order for their children receive treatment have access to a
nurturing, home-like place to stay, home-cooked meals and transportation to and
from the hospitals.
For the past
two years our girls have participated in the 76ers Read for Ronald Read-a-Thon, along with students from many
other schools. The proceeds
from this read-a-thon went to ensure that families had the services of the
Ronald MacDonald House. Please
encourage your daughters to get sponsors for this reading event. All kinds of reading count: reading to
yourself, being read to by a parent or teacher, and reading for assignments at
school. Information and sponsor envelopes are going home in next week’s
Thursday folder. The
read-a-thon will last through the month of February. Participating in this way can help your daughters get better
at reading while raising money for a good cause! We look forward to a great day on Jan. 28, dedicated to
reading!
