Major disasters affect thousands of people each year throughout the country. Locally, the Salvation Army helps 350 families each year throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware. In a disaster, victims are left with the clothing on their backs, unable to launder what they are wearing or purchase new underwear of pajamas for children.
