Bryn Mawr, PA — June 7, 2012 — Thirty-six seniors at The Baldwin School received their high school diplomas today at the School's 124th commencement. Among the graduates are National Merit Scholarship Program finalists, Society of Women Engineers certificate holders, soon-to-be college athletes and other accomplished young women.

Bryn Mawr, PA – May 18, 2012 – Baldwin’s Middle School students have been recognized for their performance in the Pennsylvania Mathematics League Contest and American Mathematics Competition 8 (AMC 8).  Jessica Zhang ’17 was the top Pennsylvania Mathematics League Contest scorer among seventh graders in Montgomery County, and was in a four-way tie for first place among individual scorers statewide. In the AMC 8, which is open students Grade VIII and below, Zhang earned Honor Roll status for scoring among the top 5 percent of students nationwide.
Bryn Mawr, Pa. – April 10, 2012 – Thirteen anticipatory Middle School math club students at The Baldwin School have learned that together, they’ve reached Gold Level Status in the MATHCOUNTS Club Program.  This year, approximately 250 schools nationwide achieved this designation.
Bryn Mawr, Pa. – April 3, 2012 – A 14-year-old Bear will compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic swim team this summer.  Valerie Yoshimura, a freshman at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., is one of five 14-year-olds in the country – and among .5 percent of registered swimmers nationwide – to qualify for the U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials in the 100 meter butterfly.  The qualifying event was held at the Indianapolis Grand Prix on March 30. 
Bryn Mawr, Pa. – March 22, 2012 – Baldwin’s Head of School Sally Powell announces Fran Feldman Walish as director of marketing.  In this role, Walish will oversee strategic partnerships, signature programming, and all marketing and communications initiatives for the region’s leading independent girls school for Pre-K-Grade XII.
Bryn Mawr, Pa.– February 16, 2012 – With graduation still months away, The Baldwin School’s Class of 2012 is already looking ahead to college, thanks to securing early admissions to 37 leading colleges and universities across the country. These admissions include four student athletes who will be trading Baldwin’s blue and grey to don Yale’s blue, Stanford’s cardinal and white, UMass Amherst’s maroon and white and Middlebury’s blue and white for varsity sports.
Bryn Mawr, Pa. – January 6, 2012 – Eight of Baldwin’s Model Congress members have been selected to serve on special program committees during the 2012 Harvard Model Congress Conference, to be held Feb. 23-26 in Boston.  Paralleling with the current political scene, the 2012 conference will feature a presidential debate.  Baldwin’s Elena Saltzman ’12 was selected as the national 2012 Democratic presidential candidate, Randi Brown ’12 will play the role of Republican speech writer, and Abby Grosskopf ’13 has been named Republican policy advisor.  Only 16 individuals in the country serve on the Election 2012 special program committee. 
Bryn Mawr, PA – October 28, 2011 – As a 2011 service project, 35 pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at The Baldwin School, an all-girls independent school in suburban Philadelphia, raised $520 to help advance the mission of girls’ education worldwide. The students completed household chores to earn the money, which they donated to Pink Bikes, a newly formed non-profit that delivers bikes to girls in Cambodia, Costa Rica and Sudan with the goal of helping to increase accessibility to school.
Bryn Mawr, PA – October 18, 2011- Thirteen of the 36 members of The Baldwin School’s Class of 2012 have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Bryn Mawr, PA – June 30, 2011 – Julia Smith was named “Most Valuable Player” after leading American team Work to Ride to victory in the third annual UNICEF Cup, part of the Access Bank Emir of Katsina Charity Shield Polo Tournament, May 26 - June 5.  Julia, who has been playing polo since age 9, was the only female on the team – and in the tournament.

Bryn Mawr, PA – June 28, 2011 – The Baldwin’s School’s Schoolhouse Library is now known as the Anne Frank Library, named in honor of the historical figure and the Baldwin family who anonymously made a $1 million commitment to the school.

Bryn Mawr, PA – June 16, 2011 – Fifty-eight seniors at The Baldwin School received their high school diplomas on June 9 at the school's 123rd commencement.  Among the graduates are two National Merit Scholarship Program winners, Society of Women Engineers certificate holders, National Latin Exam medalists, a Community Hero Award winner, soon-to-be college athletes and other accomplished young women.

Bryn Mawr, PA – June 7, 2011 – Hard work + focus = success for The Baldwin School’s Middle School students, who received awards at the Pennsylvania Math League Contest.  Jessica Zhang, Grade VI, was the top scorer statewide in her grade level. 

Bryn Mawr, PA – May 31, 2011 – The Baldwin School's Model Congress Club received the Best Small Delegation award at the 2011 University of Pennsylvania Model Congress Conference.  Seniors Wendy Morrison, Sara Parmacek and Val Cohen won Best Delegate awards within their respective committees for their ability to clearly articulate their political position and form coalitions with fellow congressmen to gain consensus and approval on their proposed bills.  Also attended by Baldwin this year, the Harvard Model Congress Conference saw Baldwin sophomore Abby Grosskopf receive the Best Delegate award within her committee.

Bryn Mawr, PA – May 20, 2011 – Duke University junior and Baldwin School alumna Emma Hamm is one of five female finalists for the 11th annual Tewaaraton Award, the highest honor in NCAA lacrosse.  Midfielder Hamm was one of 55 female lacrosse players nationwide named to the 2011 Tewaaraton Award Watch List and has made the final cut – a fact that comes as no surprise to her former Baldwin lacrosse coach.
