Valerie Yoshimura'15 took first in the 200 freestyle and broke her existing team record by nearly three seconds. Maddie Pujadas '14 took second place in the 200 Individual Medley and Katie Edwards'15finished a close second in the 50 free. The meet buzzed with excitement when Valerie Yoshimura finished first in the 100 butterfly, breaking the school record, previously owed by her sister Stephanie.
“Valerie was thrilled to break the record,” stated Hart, “but it must be bittersweet for her, knowing how close Valerie is with her sister.”
The race of the evening was the 100 breastroke in which Episcopal’s Repke slipped ahead of Maddie Pujadas for first place in a race decided by 11 tenths of a second.
The meet ended with a score of 94-71 for EA.
“Episcopal’s swim team is loaded with talent this year,” said Hart, “they will be a major force in the InterAc. I am proud of the Baldwin swimmers, they raced hard and didn’t quit. This is a big turning point for us and the Baldwin swimmers have certainly embraced the moment.”
