Varsity Basketball Tops Abington Friends at the Coaches for Cancer Tournament

After the break, the Bears knew discipline and defense were going to be key in winning the game. By the fourth quarter the Bears tapped into their reserve and almost matched basket for basket with Abington Friends. Jennifer Motter was on fire and virtually unstoppable, as she scored nine of her team high thirteen points in the quarter. With 1 minute and 18 seconds left on the clock the Bears were trailing by one. After a team time out the Bears executed the “and 1” play. Jennifer Motter pulled the offensive rebound, hit the “put back” and was fouled. The Bears defeated Abington Friends 34-32.

For Baldwin: Lead by Sophomore Center Jennifer Motter, who had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Senior Forward Kaylah Kleczka had 6 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Forward Ali Thaler added 7 points.
