Meet Our Baldwin Originals

Last week, Baldwin students donated 500 gifts and 200 handmade Christmas cards for children at the Rift Valley Children’s Village in Tanzania as part of its Annual Christmas Presents Gift Drive. 
Baldwin's Science Department hosted its third annual Science Student Research Symposium on Tuesday, October 28. Four amazing senior scientists from the Class of 2015, Taylor Chen, Abigail Andrews, Laura Noteware, and Jasmine Syed, spent their summers in research labs at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Abramson Research Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Thomas Jefferson University College of Medicine.
The JV Tennis team completed an undefeated season on Tuesday afternoon with a 6-1 win at Germantown Academy. 
On Friday, October 24, the Baldwin Middle School began its Day of Service with a reflection and celebration of United Nations Day (10/24) and Make a Difference Day (10/25). One of Baldwin’s goals is to make service more authentic for its students by introducing educational and reflective components to frame service experiences. Through class meetings, assemblies and peer-to-peer education via student service presentations, the girls are learning about communities in need and how their service can impact those around them. 

The Mexico Women's National Soccer team visited Baldwin's campus on Saturday, October 25.

Last Saturday, many Baldwin Lower School students and their families participated in the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society Light the Night Walk in Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, PA. This walk was special to the Baldwin LS community as they remembered and honored the deceased father of two Lower School girls. One student who deserves special recognition is Charlotte Miller ’24.

Varsity volleyball swept visiting non-league opponent Harriton High School 3-0 on Thursday afternoon.

The Art Department is proud to announce the installation of our first student show of the year: The All-School Autumn Art Exhibition. This show, timed to coordinate with Baldwin’s Open House on October 22, highlights work from the Lower School and Middle School as well as all five studios of the Upper School. 

Varsity Soccer shut out visiting Episcopal Academy 1-0 Tuesday afternoon on Upper Field to win their second consecutive Inter-Ac League game.


Nine out of 11 varsity tennis players advanced to the medal round and six won a medal at the 2014 Inter-Ac League Tennis Championships hosted by Episcopal Academy on Tuesday afternoon.


The Middle and Upper School cross country teams competed in the Inter-Ac League Championships on Monday afternoon at the Belmont Plateau.


The Baldwin School is excited to welcome you to an Open House to learn about all that Baldwin has to offer. Join us on either Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. or Thursday, Nov. 6 at 9 .m.

The next Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group is not only the first woman to lead a major music publishing company, she’s a Baldwin alumna. Jody Gerson, current co-president of Sony/ATV Publishing and member of The Baldwin School’s graduating class of 1979 will assume her new role as Chairman and CEO on Jan. 1, 2015.
For the fourth year in a row, the Baldwin community has donated their hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths, a program designed to help women fighting cancer receive real-hair wigs.

Varsity field hockey, tennis, volleyball and soccer hosted Inter-Ac League opponent Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCHA) on a beautiful fall Homecoming day on Saturday, October 18.
