The Baldwin School announces the retirement of Sally Powell, who has served as Baldwin’s Head of School since June 2006, after more than thirty-five years as a teacher, administrator and executive at secondary schools. She has planned a retirement date of June 2016.
“Our bright girls and dedicated teachers exude such earnest, joyful enthusiasm, and my personal commitment to providing access to the very best education a girl can have is lifelong, passionate and sincere. It has been a perfect match,” said Sally Powell. “My decision to retire comes on the heels of a successful 125th and in advance of our next strategic planning process. From a personal standpoint, I am looking forward to spending more time with my husband, traveling and exploring new ways to contribute my time and expertise to others.”
