Florence Baldwin Day, Oct. 12

The National Board of Advisors held the inaugural celebration of Florence Baldwin's Birthday on Wednesday, Oct. 12.  We hope you had the opportunity to celebrate Miss Baldwin either on campus or in the city where you found yourself on this day.

Special events were held on campus, including a lunchtime celebration for our students, faculty and staff and a wine reception for alumnae prior to the Alumnae Association general meeting at 6 p.m. in the Main Hall.  We hope that alumnae will take this as an annual opportunity to reconnect or meet for the first time, whether it is simply getting together with another Baldwin alumna for a cup of coffee or throwing a party in our city.

If you would like to join the celebration, please contact Mary Pat Staats, Director of Alumnae Relations, mstaats@baldwinschool.org, (610) 525-2700, Ext. 268 so that we might know you plan to attend the event on campus or to connect you with alumnae living nearby for your own celebration.  Take photos and send them to Mary Pat so that we can post all the celebrations on this web site!

Baldwin Honors Ada Mutch ’22 with the White Blazer Award

When Ada Mutch graduated from Baldwin in 1922, she was the recipient of the school’s coveted “Gym Prize,” an honor that is the equivalent of today’s White Blazer Award, a designation given to the school’s best all-around athlete, as chosen by her peers. As the winner, she was bestowed with the bragging rights of this honor and a small plaque.
On Friday, April 30, 2010, 88 years after her graduation from Baldwin, our oldest alumna finally received a White Blazer to call her own.
