| Baldwin School graduates 49 |
|
6/5/2009 Forty-nine seniors at the Baldwin School received their high school diplomas Thursday, June 4 at 5 p.m. at the school's 121st commencement exercises at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. Following tradition, the young women of the Class of 2009 wore white dresses and carried bouquets featuring their class color of purple.
Guest speaker was Lexie Brockway Potamkin, author, counselor, minister, human rights activist and a former Miss World USA. Currently she is vice-president of the International League for Human Rights and a member of the Tocqueville Society of United Way of Miami and Philadelphia. She also was president of Resource for Children’s Health for seven years and a trustee of the International House.
Elected by her classmates as student speaker was Larissa Russell of Newtown Square, who will attend Dartmouth College next year. Following the ceremony, students and their families attended a reception at the Baldwin campus.
