Sports symposium focuses on injuries to girls
1/22/2009
The Baldwin School Blue and Gray Club will present a symposium entitled "Sports Injuries: Preventing the "Warrior Girl" Epidemic" on Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Athletic Center Multipurpose Room.

The symposium will address the growing epidemic of injuries in female athletes, particularly to the knee, and their impact on student-athletes and will include a hands-on demonstration of how to prevent injuries. Leading the symposium is Larry Wells, MD, a surgeon at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Sports Medicine and Performance Center and assistant professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

This community event is free of charge but reservations are required.  For more details, click on the “Warrior Girl” download in the left column of this newsletter. To register contact Assistant Director of Athletics Kathleen Simone at ksimone@baldiwnschool.org or 610-525-2700, ext. 398.
