Students work with Habitat at People of Color Conference
12/19/2008
Four Baldwin Upper School students and the dean of students attended the 2008 People of Color Conference in New Orleans, LA in December. The first day of the conference was spent laying sod in the rain with Habitat for Humanity in the Musicians Village of the 9th Ward, followed by two full days of workshops, presentations, and thought-provoking activities.

Attending with Dean of Students Pooh Gephart were Diane Ku, Kayla Cohen, Delia Sudler and Morgan Dawkins. The students are following up with presentations and workshops at Baldwin faculty meetings and have organized a gathering for some of the local schools’ participants in January. The students also plan to make a presentation to the Multicultural Resource Center and any other interested organizations.
