I trust that you are enjoying this special time with your family! Here at Baldwin the campus has been humming with activity, with camp in full swing. The maintenance, grounds crew and housekeeping departments are busy with preparations for the coming school year. Looking ahead to the fall, Baldwin will offer several fun and engaging After School Enrichment Programs for Lower and Middle School students. Potential classes may include: ceramics, cooking, dance, knitting, musical drama, scrabble and study skills. Classes will meet one day each week and will be held Monday, Sept. 14, through Thursday, Nov. 19. The specific listing of offerings will be included as a download in the Aug. 19 E-Bulletin. Incidental accounts will be used for the class and material fees

A Message from Head of School Sally Powell
Summer time means many different things to many people, but above all summer is a time for great books. Yes, we all love to relax under warm sunny skies. We all look forward to summer months of travel and excitement. Summer provides us with opportunities to try something new or to continue exploring beloved activities. But, really, summer was created for reading. When else throughout the year can we languish without pressure, without another thought to cloud our minds, and live the words printed on the pages? Reading is food for our mind and nourishment for our soul. If you read a great book this summer, please e-mail me to let me know. I will compile a list of your recommendations – for books for all ages and all interests – and circulate it in the fall. This way we can, as a community, share our most precious discoveries.
