A Message from Middle School Director Lois Pressman
Although we are just a few days away from Winter Break, the Middle School calendar is filled with activities. The cast list for Annie Junior has been posted, and girls have been invited to sign up for the tech side of the production on costumes, set painting, props or publicity. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop the skills that are absolutely essential to the creation of a successful production. I have always admired the confidence and expertise our girls exhibit as they work in these areas.

A Message from Upper School Director Eric Benke
Thursday is a Holiday Dress Day for Upper School students who may dress in festive holiday garb rather than the uniform. Friday is a Baldwin Blue Day as we assemble for the annual Winter Assembly on Friday morning. Looking ahead, in addition to our traditional Martin Luther King Assembly on Friday, Jan. 16, we will be making arrangements for the student body to view the Inauguration live on the big screen on Jan. 20.

A Message from Head of School Sally Powell
As the holiday season unfolds there is much excitement in the air. Talk of trips and families and friends and, of course, presents, sprinkles the campus. Our girls have been giving generously to our “Mitten Tree” and supporting “Secret Santa” as well as turning their hearts and minds to others at this time. We would expect nothing less from our Baldwin girls. Though for some this is an especially stressful time as our seniors hear news from colleges. I must say that we have heard some very exciting reports from many girls and, of course, we are very proud and happy for them. It is important to remember that all our seniors are remarkable young women, all deserving of entering a first class college that is a good match. And, as all the years past have taught us, by the time June arrives each girl will have found an exciting college campus on which to continue her academic journey. So, I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very warm, relaxing and special time during the vacation, and I send very best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2009.
