Last year, guided by Class Agents Warren Thaler and Claudia Baldassano and Annual Fund Chairs Mark and Megan Nicoletti, the parents from the Class of 2018 achieved 100% participation in Baldwin’s Annual Fund.  To celebrate this accomplishment the girls were treated to a pizza party earlier this month. Sally Powell spoke about the importance of the Annual Fund and the significance of having the highest participation in the school. The girls had a great time and are looking forward to encouraging their parents to reach their goal again this year.

A Message from Lower School Director Baiba Vasys
Autumn is my favorite time of year because it is a season of intense sensory contrasts. We haven’t had a hard frost yet, so Indian summer is still ahead of us, yet we had a taste of the cold to come.

A Message from Director of Admissions Sally J. Goebel

The Admissions Office is very excited about the upcoming recruiting events, including an all-school Open House on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m.  We have plans for an enlightening and inspiring program.  As always, our daytime open houses on Nov, 4 and 5 will offer families an opportunity to observe Baldwin in action, combining special programming with the chance to observe Baldwin teaching firsthand.

If the Phillies win tonight - and we know they will - all students and faculty in all three divisions may wear red shirts and Phillies accessories with their uniforms to school on Thursday.

We have had no further information at this time from the Pennsylvania Department of Health on the availability of the swine flu vaccine for The Baldwin School despite extensive efforts to learn more about our status. We do know that some independent schools in Philadelphia have been sent the vaccine on very short notice. Because of this we are including a copy of the vaccine consent form in this newsletter for you to read.
