Baldwin is pleased to offer a summer SAT prep course for rising juniors and seniors. This course will be instructed by Marion Brewington, Ph.D. Marion is a Baldwin alumna, class of 1990.  This program will take place on Baldwin’s campus. Meetings will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 17 and continue through Saturday, Sept. 24, preparing girls for the October SAT.
We are pleased to report the exciting progress we are seeing from Baldwin parents who have made gifts or pledges to the Annual Fund. As you may know, last year we were the leaders amongst all area private schools and can proudly boast that we had the highest parent participation! Let’s keep the momentum going as we strive to achieve our goal of 100%. Currently we stand at 58% parent participation.

Congratulations to the Grade VI class for leading the way with the highest class participation–currently at 87%! Close behind them is the Grade IV with 75% class participation. Great job!

Annual Fund class participation charts have been hung around the school-- please check them out to see how your class is progressing. If you have already made your gift this year, thank you! Your support is greatly appreciated.  If not, we hope that you will support the annual fund with a gift that is comfortable for you.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 20, the 3rd Annual Family Sports Day.  All students and their families are welcome to drop in the Athletic Center from noon to 4:00 p.m. for fun and games. Download the flyer for details on this popular event, presented by Blue Gray.

A Message from Lois Pressman

Mini-Week 2011 is quickly approaching!  The girls received a brochure describing 13 outstanding workshops that will be offered Tuesday, March 22 through Thursday, March 24.  Each student selected her top choices and this Wednesday she will meet with her assigned workshop group to receive permission slips for a parent signature as well as a guideline for the specific plan for the three days.

The use of and access to the Internet has exploded in the past ten years. When your daughter goes on-line, she is able to explore educational resources, obtain up-to-the-minute information on current events, send mail instantly to people around the globe, participate in real-time forums on topics of interest and more - the possibilities are truly limitless.

However, on-line usage does carry some risks and it is imperative that you are well informed to help your daughter navigate any potential issues that may arise. On Wednesday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m., David Anderson, Laura Blankenship, and Kelly Grimmett will host an information session about Internet safety, in the Assembly Room. We highly recommend this informative event to all of our parents and hope to see you there! Any questions, please contact David Anderson at danderson@baldwinschool.org or 610-525-2700 ext. 284.
