Join us in the Assembly Room, for the third and final Only @ Baldwin. The topic of this community forum will be, Beyond the Classroom - Thinking Girls Living Balanced Lives

Baldwin’s mission is to develop talented girls into confident young women with vision, global understanding, and the competency to make significant and enduring contributions to the world, all while living balanced lives.

Playing off of this year’s school-wide theme, Many Individuals, One Baldwin, this forum will focus on the intricate methodology and structure as well as the special programs, classes, services that are integrated into the school day and beyond. Presenters will share how this interwoven structure ensures that your daughter receives the support, guidance and knowledge necessary to grow as both an individual and a member of the larger Baldwin community.
We hope to see you there. Questions? Please contact Anne Burns (aburns@baldwinschool.org) or call 610-525-2700 ext. 274.
Baldwin's next Open House is around the corner. Please help us share the news with your friends in the community in one of two ways:
By Email: Download the Open House flyer (from the Weekly Downloads section of this bulletin) and send it to friends, family and fans of the school!

On Facebook: Visit the Open House Facebook page and click “share” to post the event on your wall.

We need your feedback! Please help us improve the functionality and aesthetics of the Baldwin website by sharing your experiences and thoughts with us. Tell us how you use the site, what features you like, what features you'd like to have and what needs to change. We are committed to providing our community with the best website possible and look forward to doing so with your help.

Your feedback will ensure that future enhancements to www.BaldwinSchool.org target our community's specific needs and help improve your on-line experience.  Click here to complete our anonymous website evaluation survey (survey closes on April 15). Thank you!

We are proud of all the Baldwin girls who submitted entries to the Charlotte Miller Simon Poetry Contest 2011. A special congratulations to LS student Aleeha Banerjee (Grade III) for receiving Honorable Mention in the Children’s Division! The title of her delightful poem was, “Ode to a Book.”

Another congratulations goes out to all students who participated in the 76ers "Read for Ronald" program during the month of Feb. Our top Baldwin readers were:  Elise Kait (First Place), Juliana Kho (Second Place), and Sabrina Rustgi (Third Place). Proceeds from the Read-a-thon go to support the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home-like place for families to stay whose children are receiving treatment for life threatening illnesses at Philadelphia hospitals.

This summer Assistant Varsity Coach Richard Comly joins forces with Delaware Volleyball Academy and Bob Bertucci Volleyball Camps to offer two volleyball training sessions:

The Feb. 23 issue incorrectly described the relationship between Kevin Bacon and Baldwin alumna, Anne Blumberg.  While Bacon did perform in several Baldwin plays, his aquaintance was with Jane Blumberg, not Anne Blumberg.  Also, while Bacon and J. Blumberg performed together and lived near each other in Center City, J. Blumberg did not directly recruit Bacon for the 1974 play.

Take a break from your busy life and enjoy fun, food & drinks with our upcoming Girls Night Out.  Meet old friends and make new ones from the Baldwin Community on Wednesday, April 20 at Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor.  Join us for Happy Hour at 5:30 p.m. or a delicious three course dinner at 7 p.m., or both!

Dinner is limited to the first 50 guests, so RSVP as soon as possible!  First, click here to RSVP.  Second, click here to register and pay.  Third, enjoy a relaxing night out!  For more information on this and other PA events, please click on the PA News button in the upper right hand corner.

Please note: there will be delicious Passover-friendly dinner options available for guests celebrating the Holiday.
Don't miss the chance to become a Gala Patron or auction item donor before the deadlines are "going, going, gone"!

Please RSVP to the Gala Patron Pre-Party no later than April 2 by clicking here and filling in the online form.  Auction items will be accepted until April 8, so if you are able to donate a week at your vacation home, tickets to an awesome event, or another "wow" item, please fill in the donation form as soon as possible.  For more information on the Gala, please click the Gala button in the upper right hand corner.

On Sunday, March 20, Baldwin held its 3rd annual Family Sports Day, presented by Blue Gray. More than 100 members of the Baldwin community enjoyed open access to the athletic center and tennis courts. Highlights included Tae Kwan Do instructional lessons by Toril Hinchman (who is also Baldwin’s new Varsity Soccer coach); squash lessons by Brooks Russell, Assistant Varsity Squash Coach; swimming fun in the pool; and open gym time with athletic coaches on hand for support. To view all of the photos, visit Baldwin's Media Gallery.
The use of and access to the Internet has exploded in the past ten years. When your daughter goes on-line, she is able to explore educational resources, obtain up-to-the-minute information on current events, send mail instantly to people around the globe, participate in real-time forums on topics of interest and more - the possibilities are truly limitless.

However, on-line usage does carry some risks and it is imperative that you are well informed to help your daughter navigate any potential issues that may arise. Join David Anderson, Laura Blankenship, and Kelly Grimmett tonight as they host an information session about Internet safety, in the Assembly Room. We highly recommend this informative event to all of our parents and hope to see you there! Any questions, please contact David Anderson at danderson@baldwinschool.org or 610-525-2700 ext. 284.
Baldwin is pleased to offer a summer SAT prep course for rising juniors and seniors. This course will be instructed by Marion Brewington, Ph.D. Marion is a Baldwin alumna, class of 1990.  This program will take place on Baldwin’s campus. Meetings will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 17 and continue through Saturday, Sept. 24, preparing girls for the October SAT.
Community service is an integral part of Baldwin's culture.  Middle and Upper Schoolers can choose from 50+ student-run clubs, many of which focus on efforts that give back directly to our local and regional communities.
