This year, the popular Annual Mother/Special Person & Daughter event has been expanded to a full week and for the first time will be open to the entire school, from pre-K through 12 with fun activities and events for everyone.

Come “Listen, Learn & Lead” as we celebrate the strong women in our community and “Make Way for Strong Baldwin Girls”.
All Baldwin Girls may contribute either a written piece (MS/US) or a drawing (LS) to our
"Hall of Thought". All submissions will be proudly displayed in the hall between the Residence and the School House.
Come on in and take the time to enjoy the inspiration provided by these efforts from our "Strong Girls".

Monday, November 14: Put your Pink On!
Proudly wear pink shirts, socks and accessories today and show your support for
Girls Inc., an organization who’s mission is to empower young women. Girls are encouraged to donate $1 to Girls Inc.

Tuesday, November 15: Pretty Powerful!
Attend a
PINKarate class! This unique girls-only empowerment program combines the martial art of American Kenpo karate and reality based self-defense concepts. The one hour classes are open to moms & daughters from all grades and will be held at both 3:30-4:30 pm and 5:00-6:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room in the Athletic Facility. The classes will be taught by
Liz Durning, a 4th degree black belt, and the founder of PINKarate. There is no charge for these classes but please

All MS & US girls are encouraged to attend an enlightening presentation by Baldwin alumna, Margaretta Walton '97 during their lunch period. This presentation will feed your mind while you feed your body!
Friday, Nov 18: The Grand Finale! 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm in the New Gym
This all-school evening finale for both mothers and daughters is designed to celebrate the strength of our community through service projects, an inspirational lecture and wonderful entertainment. Dress up in your Baldwin gear and let your school spirit shine! There is no charge for this event but please

All Baldwin alumnae, faculty & staff are invited to attend (with their mothers and/or daughters!).
Community Service Projects:
Tap into your creativity while creating items to be donated to those in need in our community and abroad. Projects will include decorating onesies for the benefit of the wee ones in
CHOP's neonatal unit and decorating much needed plates and backpacks for the children of
RIFT Valley Children's Village in Tanzania.
Educational Presentation:
We are thrilled to announce that
Dr. Holly Hedrick, Director of Pulmonary Hypoplasia Program and Co-director of the Neonatal Surgery Division at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will be on hand to share her inspiring personal stories of success and challenges in her fascinating medical specialty. Dr. Hedrick is among a select group of surgeons who perform live-saving, in-utero surgery, is considered an international expert in her field and has operated throughout the world. You won’t want to miss this stimulating presentation from a true role model.
Entertainment:
Sit back and enjoy the singing duo of Baldwin Alumna,
Jennifer Platzkere Snyder '88, and her mother,
Deborajane Governor, former "All my Children" actress. Jennifer has established herself as a premier attorney in labor and employment law as a partner at Dilworth Paxson, and in her spare time performs with her mother. This mother-daughter duo has performed at many local theaters to glowing reviews.
We can’t think of a better way to close out a wonderful week of celebrating strong girls, near and far.
