On Monday, November 27 Lower, Middle and Upper School students participated in separate Self-Defense classes in the Athletic Center under the direction of Noah Spear, a third degree black belt world champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Spear and his experienced staff taught the students self-defense skills and techniques. The program emphasized the importance of mental/environmental awareness and prevention tactics. The students departed the program with some basic Jiu Jitsu skills to develop self-confidence, mental awareness and a respect for personal health and safety.
