The Simpson Center for the Performing Arts
in Honor of Lois Goutman
Committed to igniting and fostering the creative passions of our students, The Baldwin School community raised the $4.2 million needed to begin construction on The Simpson Center for the Performing Arts in honor of Lois Goutman.
Whether she is pursuing acting and directing, experimenting with professional lighting and sound equipment, or simply enjoying the liberty of artistic expression, The Simpson Center offers something for every student. Featuring prime acoustics and lighting and offering flexibility in stage and seating configurations, performances ranging from an intimate piano recital for 50 guests to full-scale theatrical productions for an audience of 300 can be perfectly accomodated. A state-of-the-art control room allows students to learn the ins and outs of production and inclusive of ticketing and concessions counters, the lobby and adjacent green room hosts rehearsals, art exhibits, lectures and other school events.
The Simpson Center has allowed us to create a hub for creativity, innovation and learning in the visual and performing arts at Baldwin. In honor of the one-year anniversary, we invite you to purchase a seat commemorating your love of theater or honoring a loved one, such as your Baldwin girl.
