Baldwin Hosts Neuroscience Symposium

On February 22, The Baldwin School hosted four world class researchers from the University of Pennsylvania Neuroscience Department. While primarily for Baldwin's Advanced Biology students, the symposium was open to anyone from the School community who was interested. Following the speakers' presentation, there was a walk and talk with the scientists to discuss their research as well as careers in science.

Author's Contest Winners Announced

Twelve of Baldwin's Lower School girls placed in the Gladwyne Library League's 44th Annual Junior Author's Contest. Students are awarded in the categories of poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

Abby Grosskopf '13 spoke to the students in Honors Biology on February 3 about the research she has been doing in college. Abby is currently a senior at Princeton University where she is studying Chemical and Biological Engineering.

Baldwin Students Win 30 Scholastic Writing Awards

This year, 18 Baldwin students submitted 54 written works to The Philadelphia Writing Project Writing Awards, which is a local chapter of the Scholastic Arts and Writing Award. Fourteen Baldwin students won a total of 30 awards, and two Baldwin students won a total of five Gold Key awards.

The Baldwin MS Survivor Challenge

The three days before Winter Break, Baldwin's Middle School held its second annual interdisciplinary experiential learning project. The girls tapped into their creative problem-solving skills to collaborate across grades to tackle four different design challenges. This year, based on the student suggested idea of survival during natural disasters, a group of middle school teachers developed Baldwin's second all-MS experiential learning experience, "The Baldwin MS Survivor Challenge."

Soccer Program Earns Second Straight Team Academic Award
