Launched in 2010, our Only@Baldwin program consists of three annual evenings focused on matters that relate to and directly affect our community.  Occurring throughout the year, these events serve as forums for direct communication between our parents, faculty, administration and Board of Trustees.

Topics have included:
  • Specific markers used to measure Baldwin’s annual successes.
  • Academics, specifically highlighting the new Upper School “collaborative classroom” schedule, the introduction of Baldwin’s capstone courses, college admissions and testing results, and our overall vision for girls’ education in the 21st century.
  • Developing Baldwin students as both individuals and members of a larger community.
The second Only @ Baldwin discussion focused on the Campus Master Plan: a 10-year road map that will ensure that the school’s campus facilities compliment programmatic needs to best benefit our students and the learning environment.
The year's first Only @ Baldwin Community Forum was held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. The evening's discussion centered around the results of the Baldwin Parents' Survey, which was completed in the Spring of 2011. Click here to view a video summarizing the event (password required).
Beyond the Classroom - Thinking Girls with Balanced Lives

Baldwin’s mission is to develop talented girls into confident young women with vision, global understanding, and the competency to make significant and enduring contributions to the world, all while living balanced lives.

Playing off of the 2011 school-wide theme, Many Individuals, One Baldwin, this forum focused on the intricate methodology and structure as well as the special programs, classes, services that are integrated into the school day and beyond. Presenters shared how this interwoven structure ensures that your daughter receives the support, guidance and knowledge necessary to grow as both an individual and a member of the larger Baldwin community.

The second installment of Only@Baldwin presented an opportunity to focus on the exciting academic changes and challenges that each school of Baldwin faces in the 21st Century. With a turnout of over 150 parents, faculty, and staff, the program began with an introduction by Head of School Sally Powell.

Board of Trustees Chair John Dewey followed Sally to reiterate the balanced approach Baldwin takes in running the school, juggling both the day-to-day tasks as well as the long-term goals.

At the inaugural Only@Baldwin program, we discussed methods to quantitatively measure the success of our school.  Based on a “10 marker” scale created by The National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS), we looked at Baldwin’s progress in the following categories:  Market Demand, Attrition, Giving, Faculty Salary, Tuition, Financial Aid, High Productivity, Professional Development, Endowment, and Outcomes.
