The health and well-being of Baldwin's students is paramount.  To that end, Baldwin has a dedicated team of specialists known as Specialists in School (SIS) to address health, social and human development topics.  The team includes the school counselor, psychologist, nurses, and learning facilitator.  These individuals work with students, teachers, administrators, and parents in both unstructured and formal situations throughout the year to provide counseling, life skills guidance, health and wellness information, learning strategies, parent support and guidance, study skills, workshops, skills for emotional intelligence, crisis counseling, and resource and referral information.

The SIS “Life Skills for Wellness” program, for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, connects emotional growth and self-awareness with concepts of health, diversity, and community life. Conflict resolution training for all students also is incorporated into the program. It is based on three principles: agree to work it out; listen to each other; solve the problem so everyone wins.
