Destined to Make a Difference
It is in the Baldwin Upper School (grades 9 through 12) where young women find their voice and discover their passion. Through leadership opportunities in clubs, student government, community service, athletic association and class activities, students develop confidence, independence and responsibility. An active advising system supports each girl as she develops a sense of self.

Critical Thinking
Our role lies in helping each student think critically, dare intellectually and reach her full potential. Students take responsibility for their own learning and become active participants in the learning process through challenging work in a rich academic curriculum. Baldwin provides a strong basic curriculum that includes courses in English, History, Mathematics, Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin, Latin and Greek) and Science as well as offerings in Art, Theater and Music. Upper level students choose from a wide range of electives and Advanced Placement courses. One third of Baldwin’s graduates have gone on to major in math or science in college. This is five times the national average for women.

Independence
Baldwin graduates are strong, assertive, independent young women who have worked hard, taken risks, questioned, challenged, formed lasting friendships and learned to care about the broader world beyond themselves and beyond Baldwin. They are young women destined to make a difference.

The Class of 2010
Ten seniors in the class of 2010 were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their outstanding performance as National Merit Semifinalists or Commended Students. In addition, two seniors were Semifinalists in the National Achievement Competition for African American students.
