The Baldwin School Board of Trustees today announced that it selected Lynne Macziewski of Chattanooga, TN, to lead the next generation of Baldwin students. She will be the ninth Head of the 134-year-old all-girls school, located in Bryn Mawr, PA. Ms. Macziewski will succeed current head, Dr. Marisa Porges ’96, on July 1, 2023.

“The Board of Trustees feels confident that Lynne’s leadership skills, commitment to an all-girls education and long-time experience in education, position her for success as Baldwin’s next Head of School. Lynne has the innovative vision and collaborative spirit to guide Baldwin into the future,” said Baldwin Board of Trustees Chair Patricia Weiser (P ’22, ’24). “Throughout her career in education, Lynne has demonstrated an ability to provide visionary leadership, seek and achieve excellence and develop strong and lasting relationships within her school community. She is a confident and hard-working leader with a deep sense of integrity and a lifelong love of learning.”
“Baldwin’s focus on how girls learn best and what girls need to thrive is directly in line with my beliefs and practices as an educator. I am a strong believer in the power of the student voice in guiding their learning and educational experience, especially in young women. Developing confidence in girls is a key indicator of their future success, which we know looks different for each and every girl,” said Ms. Macziewski. “I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to work with Baldwin’s remarkable faculty and staff to continue to provide the best in girls’ education for generations of girls to come.”
Search Committee Co-chairs and Board of Trustees members Rachel Gerstenhaber Stern ’83 and Martha Ortiz (P ’16) together noted, "Ms. Macziewski is a recognized educator who has demonstrated in-depth, comprehensive leadership and has a proven track record of empathy and support of students, their families, faculty and staff.”
