Beth Feingold '97 and Team Earn $870,000 Grant

Beth Feingold '97 and her team at the University at Albany School of Public Health have received more than $870,000 in grants to research how to get food before it rots in farm fields to needy consumers while it's still fresh. Feingold along with fellow School of Public Health professors Xiaobo Xue, Christine Bozlak and Akiko Hosler and Roni Neff of Johns Hopkins received $433,154 from the Foundation for Food and Agricultural Research. Local nonprofits and state agencies provided the additional funds so the team can study possible links between food waste and obesity, diabetes and heart disease risks.
