Adrian Cox is the Assistant Director of Athletics, Varsity Soccer Head Coach and Middle School "B" Basketball Head Coach. Cox arrived to Baldwin in the fall of 2013 and has more than 15 years of experience at the collegiate and independent school level.
On an independent school level, Adrian comes to Baldwin from Germantown Friends School, where he spent two years as the Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach, JV Boys Tennis Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning Head Coach and Physical Education Teacher.
He also served as Varsity Boys Soccer Head Coach, Middle School Squash and Tennis Coach, Fitness Center Director and Physical Education Teacher for five years at The Episcopal Academy.
On the collegiate level, Adrian served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Immaculata University in 2010. His career also included a two-year position as Graduate Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Drury University and three years as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Bradley University, where he helped the Braves program earn a Top 25 national ranking and a bid to the 2002 NCAA Tournament.
Adrian is highly active in the suburban Philadelphia youth soccer community. He has coached teams and directed camps for the following clubs: Lower Merion Soccer Club, Haverford Soccer Club, FC DELCO, West Chester United, Penn Fusion, West-Mont United, YSC Sports and the Philadelphia Union. In addition, his extensive experience includes coaching and playing on the international level in Argentina, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Adrian is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds his Premier Coach License and Director of Coaching Diploma. Furthermore, he is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and ACE Certified Personal Trainer.
Adrian currently directs year-round Baldwin soccer camps, clinics and tournament team programs. In four years he has built the Baldwin soccer program into one of the top private, independent schools in the Inter-Ac League and Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association. Cox has improved the varsity team's league finish from last to second place in three seasons. Also, the program has averaged 15 wins per season the past two years. The 2018 team advanced to the PAISAA state championship game and finished the season ranked #12 in the state and #19 in the Mid-Atlantic region by Top Drawer Soccer. Cox's overall record at Baldwin is 55-27-5. The program has earned the United Soccer Coaches organization Team Academic Award for four straight years with a team GPA greater than 3.5. During Cox's four-year tenure, the program has produced 14 All-Inter-Ac League and 26 All-Main Line selections. Additionally, Cox coached the program's first ever All-American in 2018 (Gia Vicari '19).
As a player, Adrian played for FC DELCO and the EPYSA and Region One Olympic Development Program. He is a member of the FC DELCO Hall of Fame. He earned a scholarship to the University of Richmond and was a four-year member of the Spiders nationally ranked program. Adrian helped the program win the 1998 Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship and earn a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Adrian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership Studies with a minor in Sport Management from the University of Richmond in 1999. He went on to receive his Master’s in Education Degree in 2001 from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.
Adrian is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and is a Registered Athletic Administrator. He holds his Provisional Certified Athletic Administrator Certificate and is working towards being a NIAAA Certified Athletic Administrator.
Adrian and his wife Jackie, Haverford College Field Hockey Head Coach, have a son, Colin, and two daughters, Jordan and Kaitlyn, and reside in Havertown, PA.
