DECA Competes in PA State Conference

On Feb 20-22, 24 members of the Baldwin DECA Club competed at the PA State DECA conference in Hershey, PA. More than 2,400 students from across Pennsylvania attended, including students from area schools including Shipley, Friends' Central, Jack Barrack Hebrew Academy and The Hill School.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Throughout the 3-day event, students competed in written and role-play events.
The following teams and individuals received recognition in their categories:
  • Shiyu Li '19, Lisa Wang '20 and Annie Lin '20 - 1st place in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Operations Research written event
  • Saachi Singh '20 - 1st place in the Personal Financial Literacy individual event
  • Lauren Bracken '19 and Nadia Dixon '19 - 2nd place in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Operations Research written event
  • Sherry Chen '22 and Helen Li '21 - 2nd place in the written Entrepreneurship Promotion Project
  • Armina Emami '20 and Katherine Yang '20 - 3rd place in the Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making Event.
  • Emma Chen '22 - 5th place in the Principles of Business Management individual event
  • Blanche Jiang '20 - 5th place in the Entrepreneurship individual event
The top four winners in each event are eligible to compete at the International Career Development Conference to be held in Orlando, FL, April 27-30.
