Baldwin Celebrates 131st Graduating Class

On Thursday, June 6, 61 seniors graduated from The Baldwin School as the 131st graduating class. These seniors earned 286 acceptances to 146 colleges and universities. Over 80 percent were admitted to their top choice schools.
On Thursday, June 6, 61 seniors graduated from The Baldwin School as the 131st graduating class. These seniors earned 286 acceptances to 146 colleges and universities. Over 80 percent were admitted to their top choice schools.
The class speaker for the 2019 commencement ceremony was Lexi Phelan ’19. Miss Phelan, who was elected by her peers, delivered her speech on June 6 at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
This year's commencement keynote speaker was Dr. Crystal Lucky ’82, Associate Dean of Baccalaureate Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Associate Professor of English, Villanova University.
Facts about The Baldwin School Class of 2019:
  • 20% of the class are matriculating to an Ivy League+ school: Columbia, Cornell (2), Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania (3).
  • Class average SAT scores were 100 points above the national average.
  • Ten students have committed to play college athletics at the following schools:.University of Pennsylvania, Gymnastics; Cornell University, Squash; Haverford College, Soccer; College of Charleston, Soccer; Arcadia University, Swimming; Cabrini University, Volleyball; Dickinson College, Soccer; Dartmouth College, Soccer; Georgetown University, Soccer; and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Rowing.
  • 30% of the class has attended Baldwin since Kindergarten.
  • Three students were awarded National Merit Scholarships.
