Megan Adelman '23 Wins PGA Championship

Congratulations to sophomore Megan Adelman who recently won the Girls 16-18 Division PGA Championship via a three-hole sudden death playoff. Megan shot an 80 (+9), which included an impressive birdie on the 17th hole. Megan’s victory propelled her to finish 2nd overall in the girls 16-18 division for The 2019/2020 Player of the Year rankings for the Philadelphia PGA Jr Tour.

“I set a goal for myself, I wanted to shoot well and place well. I started strong but hit trouble on the third hole, a long par 4. I was in the water twice, then in trees and lipped two putts. I ended up with a double digit (10) on the hole. I shook it off on my way to the next tee box. I just wasn’t going to give up and let one bad hole define my round. I played really well the rest of the round and tied for 1st,” she said.

“It came to a sudden death playoff between myself and another player.” It took three holes but I finally made the par putt to bring home the trophy. I was nervous but I said to myself I’m not ready to go home yet. And those might have been the best three holes of golf I played all day.”

Megan is the captain of Baldwin's golf team, the sophomore representative for the Baldwin Athletic Association and plays varsity soccer and basketball.

The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour leads the region in competitive junior golf, conducting over 90 events seasonally at top facilities. With more than 800 members, the Junior Tour is represented by players from every geographic location in the section.
