Three Baldwin Students Win Columbia Gold Circle Awards

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association recently announced the winners from its 37th Gold Circle Awards program for newspapers and magazines. Three Baldwin students were recognized:
  • Op-Ed or News Analysis Page Design – 1st Place - Hana Ahanger ’21 , Issue 1 2019-20, p. 4, The Hourglass
  • Cultural Feature – 3rd Place - Anna Wang ’22, Issue 1 2019-20, “Culture Corner: Q&A Food in China Part 1,” The Hourglass
  • Op-Ed or News Analysis Page Design – Certificate of Merit - Sophie Cai ’22, Issue 3 2019-20, p. 11, The Hourglass
The Gold Circle Awards are offered in late September to recognize work by individual student journalists working with print during the previous academic year. The 5,194 entries from the 86 categories in the Gold Circle Awards for newspapers and magazines were judged during late August. The entries for this competition come from publications produced by students at colleges, universities and secondary schools through the United States and abroad who follow the American education plan.
