The Baldwin School is first and foremost a girls’ school offering a challenging college preparatory curriculum aimed at maximizing the potential of each and every child. From the time girls join the community, whether in Lower School, Middle School or Upper School, they experience a nurturing atmosphere of learning and discovery about academics, athletics, arts and community service.
Confidence
Baldwin’s all-girls environment places a strong emphasis on independence and confidence, and in an atmosphere of trust, our girls learn to question, speak truthfully and take risks for a better global understanding. Baldwin graduates understand the importance of contributing to the creation of a better tomorrow.
Fundamentals
In the Lower School, self-contained classes provide a base of learning skills in the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic as well as a breadth of content that encourages creativity and curiosity. Developmentally, Middle School expands on the foundation adding a more in-depth analysis of literature, cultural geography, and scientific method supported by a structure of time management and increased emphasis on organization of material and information.
Intellectually Well Rounded
The next step for the Baldwin girl is entering Upper School when she embarks upon the college preparatory journey. By this time, leadership and a global understanding of diversity are in place. A more individualized curriculum is designed with a core of courses fulfilling the requirements of an intellectually well-rounded girl. Time management is increasingly more important as the girl who is the field hockey goalie or the coxswain for the rowing team is also the class president or the editor of the school newspaper.
Come take a look at the exciting path for girls who are on their way to becoming global citizens and active scholars. You will find that Baldwin girls do make a difference.
