Athletics are an integral part of the overall curriculum at Baldwin where students from all divisions engage in a wide variety of athletic pursuits while having fun. Our new, state-of-the-art Athletic Center allows us to expand our existing programs and offer our girls an outstanding venue in which to play and compete.
According to the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools, athletic participation has tremendous value because in addition to appreciating the importance of physical fitness, girls develop determination, perseverance, self-reliance, confidence, a positive self-image and strategic thinking skills. These are qualities and skills that serve young women well in all aspects of life.
I invite you to take some time to review the Baldwin Athletics web pages; they highlight the physical education programs and sports that are offered at Baldwin as well as information about our winning teams and student-athletes’ many accomplishments, our fine coaching staff, Blue Gray (our parent organization), camps and clinics, and more.
Our Baldwin teams and athletes continue to make a mark in the highly competitive Inter-Academic League. This year alone, we captured Inter-Ac Titles in Tennis and Squash and recorded three undefeated seasons in Varsity squash, Middle School squash and Middle School soccer. All of our interscholastic athletes are dedicated and passionate in their pursuit of excellence.
I look forward to answering any questions you may have about our physical education and athletic programs, and I welcome your call. I can be reached at 610-525-2700, ext. 270.
Sincerely, Deb Surgi
Director of Athletics
