Welcome to Baldwin! Middle School is a remarkable moment in a girl’s life. It is a time of becoming - when curiosity deepens, when friendships matter more, when confidence wobbles and then strengthens, and when young people begin to understand not just what they are learning, but who they are becoming. It is also the stage where girls learn to use their voices, test their leadership, take healthy risks, and begin shaping the stories they will carry forward.

As the Head of the Middle School, I have the great privilege of walking alongside the girls during one of the most formative chapters of their lives. Each morning, I greet students as they arrive, and it never fails to remind me why this work matters. Middle schoolers are honest, funny, thoughtful, passionate, and full of possibility. They ask big questions. They care deeply. They deserve a community that sees them fully and believes in them fiercely.

A Community Where Girls Belong and Lead
One of the things that makes Baldwin extraordinary is that there is no single definition of a “Baldwin girl.” Our students are athletes, artists, engineers, performers, debaters, leaders, and dreamers. They explore boldly - in classrooms, on stages, on fields, in clubs, and through affinity and alliance spaces that affirm identity and belonging.

Leadership here is not reserved for a few, and it is practiced daily. Girls lead clubs they imagine into existence. They shape school culture through student organizations. They learn to advocate for themselves and for others. They discover that kindness and courage are not opposites; they are partners.

Our advising program sits at the heart of this work. Every student is known well, supported by a trusted adult who helps her navigate both the challenges and the triumphs of middle school life. At Baldwin, every adult is on your daughter’s team.

Partnership Matters
We believe deeply that educating middle schoolers is a partnership between school and family. When girls see the adults in their lives working together, listening, and communicating openly, they feel safer taking risks and stretching themselves. We value dialogue, collaboration, and trust, and welcome families as true partners in this journey.

I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to lead this community and to work alongside educators who understand the magic and complexity of this stage of development. Baldwin Middle School is a place where girls are challenged and cherished, where high expectations live alongside deep care, and where each student is encouraged to become exactly who she is meant to be.
