  • Create Paddle Boats through 3-D Printing

Skill Building:
Math, Logic and Probleming Solving, Design and Creativity

Middle School DREAM Lab®

By Middle School, students have acquired a solid set of logic, design and engineering skills. And now they have the opportunity to take it to the next level, taking projects close to real-world applications!

  • Build Prototypes of a Refugee Shelters
  • Program a Mobile App and Speak wtih Professional Game Designers
  • Create Personal Websites
  • 3-D Print the Parts of a Cell
  • Build Wind Turbines to Learn about Solar Energy

Skill Building:  Design Thinking & Application; Data Analysis; Scientific Problem Solving

Upper School DREAM Lab®

In addition to Engineering and Computer Science classes, the Upper School DREAM Lab® provides a space for clubs such as TSA and Girls Who Code to meet. Students interested in STEM are encouraged to utilize the workspace whenever free.

Engineering students are given an overview of the various types of engineering while learning about the engineering design process, drafting, observation and communication. Students solve real world problems as they are trained to use a variety of hand tools and larger equipment including a Table Saw, Band Saw, Drill Press and Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Computer Science students gain proficiency in abstraction, logic, problem solving and communication while learning to write clean code.

Many students continue to use the Upper School DREAM Lab to complete advanced, self-directed projects and network with industry professionals. With additional access to a laser cutter and 3D printers, students weave design into their traditional technical classes.
