Megan Adelman ’23 Awarded As USNSCC Honor Cadet

Sophomore Megan Adelman joined the United States Navy Sea Cadet Corp (USNSCC) in September 2020. As part of the program she is required to complete extensive coursework, maintain set physical fitness standards and pursue advanced training to attain higher rank and responsibilities. As a new recruit, Megan completed the four-month unit indoctrination program and upon completion was awarded Honor Cadet by the Commanding Officer and senior officers of the unit. In order to be awarded Honor Cadet she achieved the highest scores on assigned coursework, performance during drill weekend and the final written exam and Officer interview. She also was promoted during this time period.
 
The USNSCC is a youth leadership program chartered by the U.S. Navy and funded by Congress. Its mission is to build leaders of character by offering experiential training in partnership with the U.S. Navy in order to instill the highest ideals of honor, respect, commitment and service.
 
Megan plans to pursue advanced training opportunities offered by USNSCC this summer by attending SEAL Team training in California and Airman basic and advanced training in Florida.
