Philadelphia Classical Society Academic and Project Competitions - 2023
A number of Baldwin students have been named winners in the 84th annual Philadelphia Classical Society (PCS) academic and project competitions. The awards luncheon was held on April 29 at the Drexelbrook Banquet Facility in Drexel Hill, PA. After two years of virtual judging, some of the categories resumed in-person judging (at the Haverford School), and the remainder were judged virtually.

Five of Baldwin’s entries were selected as “Best of Category” submissions from the 24 participating schools: Lisa Evans ’23 for her mosaic (second year); Aubyn Mackey ’24 for her needlework entry; Caroline Fenton ’25 for two Best of Category entries in painting and sculpture/pottery; Harper Hoffman ’24 for her sketch/drawing project. In addition, a t-shirt designed by Flora Brigham ’23 was selected to be used as the 2023 Dr. Lynn Ennis Iozzo T-Shirt Design Competition. Flora previously won in 2021. During the luncheon, Caroline Fenton’s painting of the Croatian Apoxyomenos (an ancient statue recently unearthed) was awarded a certificate for the Best of the Best among all high school “best” projects.
