  • 1776! American Revolution-Mock Debate

If a mashup of Hamilton and Dungeons and Dragons appeals to you, this is the camp for you. Using a “Reacting the Past” simulation, students will explore the social and political turmoil of the American Revolution through an immersive role-playing experience set in New York City in the pivotal year of 1776. The game plunges students into the world of Patriots and Loyalists as they battle in a divided city torn between the fledgling new nation and the British Empire. In their roles, students will debate political ideologies, attempt to sway public opinion, and steer the chaotic events to their own advantage. In addition to the game, students will take a field trip to the Museum of the American Revolution.

  • Turbine Titans - Engineering Energy Camp

Get ready to dive into the world of turbines, both wind and water, in this high-energy, week-long STEM camp! You’ll team up with fellow young engineers to explore how turbines capture motion from air and water to generate electricity. Through hands-on experiments, you’ll test how different blade shapes, angles, and gear ratios affect power output, and use multimeters to measure your success. You’ll try out both wind and hydro turbine systems, test your designs in our custom wind tunnel and water flume, and gather data to refine your ideas. Once you’ve learned the science behind turbine design, you’ll create your own hybrid turbine to see how efficiently it can harness nature’s power! We’ll add a field trip to see renewable energy in action and finish each day with some summer fun during our afternoon swim breaks. By the end of the week, you’ll be a true Turbine Titan and master how to turn motion into might! If you loved Aqua Innovators last summer, you're going to love Turbine Titans this summer!
