Hourglass Staff Travel to Nashville for National Journalism Convention
Members of Baldwin’s school newspaper, The Hourglass, traveled to Nashville earlier this month for the National High School Journalism Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. As the nation’s largest gathering of scholastic journalists, advisers, journalism teachers, yearbook leaders and design and photography, Baldwin students Shayla Bergen ’26, Sophia Chen ’26, Haley Duong ’26, Macy Li ’26, Kate Ma ’26, Lily Murphy ’26, Emily Braca ’27, and Emily Wang ’27 joined more than 6,000 high schoolers from around the country. In addition to attending numerous workshops, seminars, and critiques, they competed against more than 60 teams and were semifinalists – earning 3rd place - in the Quiz Bowl, which was an assortment of trivia questions related to journalism, history, ethics, law, design, photography, current events and more!
