Baldwin School Students Win 2026 PCS and National Latin Exam Awards

Throughout the year, Baldwin’s Upper School Latin students have competed in artistic and academic competitions through the Philadelphia Classical Society (PCS) and the National Latin Exam. We would like to recognize them for their considerable achievement.

In February, students competed in the PCS’s Latin Week Competition, for which they created art inspired by the ancient world. Congratulations to those students who received Best in Category:
  • Mia Huang ’28 for Minecraft
  • Sophie Kalish-Schur ’27 for Mosaic
  • Alicia Lu ’28 for 3D Printing
  • Sarah Reynolds ’28 for Drawing
  • Sofia Tang ’28 for Drawing
Also in February, Latin students in the upper-level classes took the PCS Latin Exam, which tests their ability to read unseen passages of Latin prose and poetry. Congratulations to Yee-Yee Li ’27, who won the PCS’s Top Academic Award for earning a summa cum laude on both the Level III and Level IV Latin exams these last two years! She also scored the highest on the PCS exam out of all participating upper level Latin students in the Philadelphia area!

In March, all Upper School Latin students also took the National Latin Exam, which is designed to test a Latin student’s understanding of Latin grammar, history, and culture according to their grade level.
