The Baldwin School Recognizes Grade 5 With a Moving Up Celebration

On June 4, the entire Lower School gathered for the final time this year at the Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony for the Class of 2032. We celebrated the Class of Blue with the students’ families and friends with traditional Lower School songs like “We’re on Our Way” and “School’s Out.” Each fifth grader shared a personal reflection or piece of advice about Lower School, and the entire class performed their class song, “Long Live.” The Blue/Gray Cup was awarded to the Gray team, and the Baiba Vasys Core Values Award was presented to Katie Kuoch ’32. Katie is described as a kind, curious and capable leader who brings her whole heart to everything she does. She loves to learn — not just for the sake of a grade, but because she truly values the opportunity to grow, stretch and discover more about the world and herself. Her teachers describe her as a thoughtful partner and an enthusiastic collaborator — someone who balances diligence and fun with grace and good humor. In every setting — classrooms, hallways, recess, or the gym — she brings integrity, kindness and a genuine care for others. Her everyday actions and interactions show us what it means to be a Baldwin student.
