Nadia Tareen '11

Distinguished Young Alumna Award
Nadia Tareen ’11 has focused her career on social impact and expanding equality of opportunity through access to healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.

She is currently Chief of Staff at Stepful, an education startup based in New York. Stepful is tackling the healthcare workforce shortage with digitally delivered, affordable training programs that provide communities with accessible pathways to healthcare careers. Graduates have reported a 25% income increase after completing Stepful’s training programs.

In her role, Nadia leads strategic projects to help grow the company, manages relationships with investors and the Board, and ensures teams across the organization work together effectively in service of Stepful’s mission.

Nadia began her career in management consulting at EY-Parthenon, advising philanthropic clients working to improve K-12 educational outcomes across the United States. She then joined the Gates Foundation as a Strategy Officer, where she worked on global health projects like polio eradication in Pakistan – work she found especially meaningful given her family roots in Pakistan. Nadia then completed her master’s program and worked in the startup ecosystem in Mexico and in impact investing before joining Stepful.

Nadia holds a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in International Studies from the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School. In 2024, she received a joint MBA from Harvard Business School and MPA in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School.

Nadia traces her career motivations to her time at Baldwin and the support she received from her teachers and the Class of 2011 community. In 2007, she founded the Baldwin chapter of Girls Learn International, a nonprofit promoting global women’s education. Nadia is grateful for the love and support of her family – her parents, Natasha and Kamran, her sister Sophia ‘13, and her husband Paul. She lives in Jersey City, NJ, and enjoys painting, teaching fitness classes, and reading for the Class of 2011 Baldwin Book Club.
