The Alumnae Award
Suzanne Rombeau Fletcher ’95 is a seasoned venture capital investor with more than two decades of experience across private equity, early-stage investing, and technology. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Zelda Ventures, an early-stage fund focused on backing experienced entrepreneurs building companies around transformative global trends. Her investment philosophy centers on long-term relationships, often partnering with founders she has supported across multiple ventures and over many years.

Before launching Zelda Ventures, Suzanne built a distinguished career spanning both private equity and venture capital. She began in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley, then spent a decade in secondary private equity investing before transitioning into early-stage venture. She later joined StartX, a prestigious startup accelerator dedicated to supporting Stanford University alumni, professors and students, where she managed the Stanford-StartX Fund and oversaw $175 million in investments across more than 300 companies and 500+ funding rounds.

Through her work with over 900 founders, she developed a unique longitudinal perspective on entrepreneurial success, particularly identifying those who go on to build standout second and third companies. She is particularly interested in applied artificial intelligence (AI), deep tech, and overlooked industries such as construction and hardware, where she sees significant opportunity for innovation.

Suzanne has invested in more than 350 startups, with 12 reaching unicorn status and representing over $50 billion in combined company value. She also served as a General Partner at Prime Movers Lab, investing in breakthrough science and deep tech innovation.

Suzanne earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds a B.S. in Finance and Information Systems from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. Suzanne lives in the Bay Area, she is happily married to an entrepreneur, and is a mom to human twins and a lot of pets!
