Three Baldwin Students Selected as 2026 Fellows for Germination Project

Congratulations to Anya Jani ’28, Lingxi Kong ’28, and Sofia Tang ’28, who were selected through a rigorous application process to participate as 2026 Fellows in the Germination Project, which is an initiative that is building a long-term leadership pipeline for the city of Philadelphia by identifying exceptional 10th-grade students from all backgrounds and connecting them to a lifelong network of mentorship, opportunity, and civic engagement. Through a fellowship rooted in talent, ambition, and service, the program equips young leaders with the relationships, confidence, and resources needed to create meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

At the center of the initiative is the Summer Leadership Boot Camp, an intensive two-week experience developed in partnership with leaders from Penn Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania. Combining leadership training, social entrepreneurship, experiential learning, and direct access to pioneering innovators, the program challenges Fellows to think boldly about solving global problems while helping them see themselves as future changemakers capable of shaping a more equitable and prosperous future. Three initiatives they will be concentrating on are literacy, healthcare access, and public markets.

Other recent Baldwin students who participated in the Germination Project are 2025 Fellow Emily Wang ’27 and 2024 Fellow Macy Li ’26.
